Inside the Inter-Ac is a spotlight on some of our most important stakeholders, the coaches. This weekly feature hopes to allow fans of the Inter-Ac to get to know the coaches on a more personal level.
This week, we heard from:
Stephanie Mill – Springside Chestnut Hill Academy - Softball
Q: What do you love about coaching at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy?
A: I love we are a small community and the players and parents feel like a second family.
Q: What is your best coaching moment/memory?
A: My best coaching moment was in 2018 when we won the PAISAA championship in extra innings.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
A: Sports has taught me to never give up. Just keep your head up, not let little things bother you and just keep focused.
Q: Who has been your greatest coaching mentor?
A: My greatest mentor was my high school coach and physics teacher, Wayne Finkbeiner. He pushed me on the athletic field and in the classroom. He made me want to be a teacher and coach. In 2018, by sheer luck, I happened to have the opportunity to coach against him. I hadn't seen him in over 25 years, but he knew who I was right away and I was so glad I could tell him how much of an influence he was on my life!
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: A League of Their Own, of course!
