Scholar-Athletes Participate in Transformative Leadership Workshop

This morning, several scholar athletes from Inter-Ac member schools attended the HEADstrong Servant Leadership Workshop at Berwyn Sports Club. The workshop aimed to inspire and empower student-athletes to use sports as a vehicle for positive change in their communities.
 
The panel included several distinguished guests:
-Matt Hanna, Founder and CEO of Next One Up
-Joel DiBartolomeo, Marple Newtown SD Assistant Superintendent
-Clementine Boden, Current High School Student Athlete, Notre Dame HS (NJ) '26
-Sean McNamara, Current College Two Sport Student-Athlete, Eastern '26
-Mark Koesterer, Player's NIL Owner
-Chris Irvin, Swarthmore College Assistant AD for Community Outreach
-Richie Hurley, HEADstrong, Former College Athlete Siena '13
-Jackie Allibone, HEADstrong, Former College Athlete Temple '13
 
Students listened to several presentations and stories, all sharing the common theme of leveraging sports as a means for community improvement. Additionally, attendees completed a mini service project, crafting care packages for young people currently battling cancer in the Philadelphia area.
 
Jeff Baxter of HEADstrong, who organized the event, expressed gratitude to all participants and speakers for making the workshop a resounding success. "This event not only provided invaluable insights into leadership and service but also allowed our student athletes to make a tangible difference in the lives of young cancer patients," said Baxter.
